Best carnitas I have ever hard. I went on Thanksgiving day, so glad they were opened. I got the carnitas plate. It was the best thing I've had in a long long time. So flavorful with all the right bits and parts. Carmalized but not burnt. Soooo good.

We were heading home and my parents were hungry we found this place down highland because my parents wanted menudo but don Vicente Menuderia was busy. Each dish we ordered was delicious and fulfilling. Highly recommended if you are in the area. We left satisfied and glad we gave this place a try. It is small inside but they have some seating outside also. I will definitely come back here again I

For being a last minute order. Carnitas Quiroga made it happen so my husband bought me an order of Sopes. Let me tell you sopes were so delicious. I give them a score 10/10

Just discovered a new TACO spot! Stopped by the market to work and ended up with a FREE taco from a lovely lady. The carnitas was incredible, so good I ordered two more. I had their habanero hot sauce on top!! Perfection! Highly recommend checking it out!

I am completely blown away with this place!!!! It had high ratings but it's the best Mexican food in San Diego as far as I am concerned. First if you are new here you receive a free simple taco as it states on yelp. I didn't have to say anything as I was served this right away. Impressed with the carnitas taco and now I'm really excited for my California burrito. I added beans and hot sauce inside my burrito. It comes out and it's huge but OMG the taste is unbelievable!!!! It's a small place that's simple and clean. There is a case in the front by the cashier that has a huge piece of meat in it. The staff is very nice and accommodating. You have to try this place!!!

I found a gem for Carnitas! Located on Highland Ave in National City. The name carries the city known for the best Carnitas in Michoacán Mexico, and they did not disappoint! I ordered the 1lb of carnitas which came with beans, rice, 10 tortillas, chopped cilantro, onions and escabeche (pickled carrots and jalapeños). EVERYTHING was full of flavor and fresh. The carnitas were soft and moist just the way they should be. We were greeted and attended by a welcoming lady, Deneri, manager of the restaurant. She was very polite and attentive to us. After our meal, she recommended a dessert, the Conchas with "nata." A sweet bread with a creamy milk spread, served warm. A must try! You can eat in or have your order to go. Limited parking. El nombre lleva la ciudad conocida por las mejores Carnitas de Michoacán, México, ¡y no decepcionaron! Pedí 1 libra de carnitas que venía con frijoles, arroz, 10 tortillas, cilantro picado, cebolla y escabeche (zanahorias en escabeche y jalapeños). TODO estaba lleno de sabor y fresco. Las carnitas eran suaves y húmedas como deberían ser. Fuimos recibidos y atendidos por una señora acogedora, Deneri, gerente del restaurante. Ella fue muy educada y atenta con nosotros. Después de nuestra comida, nos recomendó un postre, las Conchas con "nata". Un pan dulce con una crema de leche cremosa, servido caliente. ¡Una prueba obligada! What a delicious spot I stumbled in National City for lunch yesterday! The carnitas here are amazing and some of the best I've had. The smell when you walk in is incredible coming from the kitchen and they make everything for you at the counter. The staff here were friendly and quick when I ate here. I got horchata for my drink and it was so good and rich. One of the best I've had and they seemingly make it fresh every day. The same goes for their food and their tacos here are packed with meat and is about 2 of your regular street-style tacos. The salsas here are hot and are flavorful. The carnitas here stand out a lot for me and are so flavorful and they are not dry at all and get an easy 5/5 for me. The birria taco I had was also good with plenty of flavor coming from the consome they were in and get a 4/5 from me. This will be a go to spot for me in future when I'm back in the area and highly recommend coming here if you want some of the best carnitas in the San Diego area!
